Self Portrait
Made with plaster strips, beeswax, seed beads, wire, and
lampworked glass beads.

The foundation is made from a plaster mold of my
face, which I then coated in a layer of beeswax.
Each seed bead is pressed into the beeswax
individually, a tedious procedure that takes many
hours. The beeswax technique is derived from the
art of the Huichol tribe in Mexico.
