Portrait of Albert

2011

plaster of paris strips,
beeswax,

glass seed beads,
embroidery floss,
handspun/hand-dyed wool

This mask is my first
piece to use both Huichol
techniques: beads and
thread pressed into wax.
I call it
Portrait of Albert
because I used Albert's
face as a mold. The
handspun wool represents
his wild curly hair.
